You can stop making monthly FEDERAL student loan payments through Sept 30, 2020. There will be no financial penalties and interest will be suspended during that time. Additional info can be found here.

** This does not include private student loans or FFEL Loans.
If you're affected by Covid-19, go to your student loan servicer and they will likely have options for you if they do not fall under loans owned by the government. You may still be able to adjust your repayment plan, apply for deferment or forbearance.
