The FG Tax Return Process

  • FG will send you an email directly from DocuSign "Financial Groove Taxes via DocuSign" to complete your Interview Form and securely sign, once you let us know you are Ready to Get Started. Please check your spam/junk folder in case the email ends up there instead of your inbox.
  • Fill this form out to the best of your ability. The Interview Form is 10-pages, so give yourself 30-60 minutes to complete. If you are unsure of something, make a note in the notes section on page 3. If you need guidance to fill things out, give us a call at 702-966-0127 or schedule a call.
  • DocuSign allows you to save your progress for later by clicking "Other Actions" then "Finish Later." Go back to your Interview Form through the DocuSign Reminder Email from "Financial Groove Taxes via DocuSign." Please do not go to our website to complete a new form. Always continue filling in the form by clicking the "Review Document" button through the most recent reminder email. This way FG doesn't have multiple documents for you. You will receive an email reminder every five (5) days to complete the Interview Form until you finish it.

  • FG will put together a personalized checklist based on your Interview Form responses. This list will identify all documents and other necessary items we need to maximize your tax return.
  • We make the list specifically for you, so your email will go out within 5-7 days. Please be patient and keep an eye on your inbox for an email from customerservice@financialgroove.com.
  • Once you have everything together, securely upload or email the items to FG.
  • Need Help? You can Schedule an Initial Tax Call for help on your documents and initial questions, before your taxes reach your tax preparer.
  • Want to keep your tax preparation fees lower? Make sure everything is complete and organized on initial submission. Fees are based on complexity, number of forms, and time required. Keep in mind multiple uploads, questions, and follow-ups add up quickly in time!
  • To get a jump-start on gathering your documents, Click Here for our List & Worksheets! If you opt to upload documents ahead of receiving your personalized checklist, be aware that your recently uploaded items will still be listed in your checklist email.
  • Upload Your Documents to Us

  • FG will organize and check-in documents and get clarifications to hand off to your tax preparer. The organization process is much faster if your paperwork is all submitted at one time as consolidated as possible. FG will notify you if we have additional missing items based on our initial check-in.
  • When FG has verified receipt of all requested information, your return is now placed in our client queue. It will be worked on in order of receipt.

  • If you opted in to this additional service, FG will go through your bank and credit card statements in detail to find and calculate your business write-offs. We don't need all of your receipts: Only the cash receipts and your statements.
  • This takes additional time to go through a year worth of transactions and get everything added up. We leave no stone unturned. We will make sure you don't miss anything!

  • FG will enter tax return & verify information: This is where the tax laws and strategies get applied, and we dig into the deeper high-level questions and opportunities for your taxes.
  • Your Tax Preparer will reach out with questions through email or phone as needed and can advise accordingly.

  • FG will give your return extra attention with a fine-tooth comb, seeking out opportunities for tax savings and potential flags to protect you from audit. The final magic happens here!

  • You will receive an email with results and insights to sign your tax return and make final payment as needed.
